Getting through the day, one cup at a time.

Day 5

on October 27, 2012

I am now on row 14 of the red (which is row 20 of the tree skirt, ka-win) and have found a simple solution to my merging issue: always merge with the stitch on the left. After I get to the end of one row I have to turn the entire tree skirt over and stitch back across it so that the previous row’s merges will appear to be on the ‘right’ side, ensuring that I am always keeping the merge seam as even as possible.

This seems like a really simple solution to me now, and makes me wonder if it were perhaps a lack of coffee that made it seem so insurmountable before.

I’m wondering how many rows I will be able to squeak out of each of these balls of yarn though….
